Christmas Morning

We all had a wonderful Christmas Day. We got up and really took our time opening gifts. We then played and played with all of our new toys and games and stayed in our pajamas all day! The day ended with dinner at home...just the four of us. It was really nice!

Wilson's Creek Battlefield

The Wilson's Creek Battlefield is a civil war battlefield where 2,539 men lost their lives. This was one of the first places we visited when we came to Springfield. We have loved coming here and learning of the history of the civil war. Saturday they set up 2,539 luminaries, one for every soldier who came an offered his life to determine the kind of nation we would inherit. We volunteered our time and set up over 400 ourselves (along with another family). It was a great learning experience and we had a great time doing it.

The Boys Gingerbread House

The boys had a fun time making their gingerbread house this year! It looks great boys!

Silver Dollar City

Thanks to some friends the Rupp's we got to go to Silver Dollar City, an amusement park in Branson. We had such a great time and there were so many fun and exiting things to do! The park is decked out in holiday decorations and fun Christmas shows. The highlight of the trip was the ride on the Powder Keg Roller Coaster. It goes from 0-64 miles per hour at the start and then pure terrifying hills and curves . The boys were screaming the whole way! Jordan thought it was the best ride ever and made his dad go on it a second time! They rode in the very front! I stayed back with Brandon because he said once was enough! (it's a bummer we didn't get any pictures on the rollar coaster, because we rode it at night!)

There is also a cave on site called Marvel Cave, and we got to go on a tour. It was amazing and it took us about an hour to get through. There were 674 stairs going down and 470 going up! Lots of squeezing through tight spaces too. It was a great adventure!

We went on a few rides that were actually open and then the lighting of the Christmas Tree in the main square. The tree and all the lights in the square are synchronized to Christmas music, what a show!

Speaking of shows, we also saw the Living Nativity and Charles Dickens " A Christmas Carol" A fun filled 12 hour day, but we had a blast and will be talking about it for months to come!

Merry Christmas Everyone!
